IT Security,A Challenge and Concern In 2014

Bangalore: IT Security has turned out to be the need of the hour with the alarming raise of cyber threats like security breaches, leaks, Trojans and malwares, reveals a recent Tech Pro survey. This survey focuses on the need of IT security and has attracted around 244 respondents across the globe, reports ZD net.

Budget required to enhance IT security among various industries was one of the major concerns in the survey.  Around 41 percent of 244 respondents said that they will increase the IT security budget in the next year .This shows a 16 percent increase in 2014 as compared to the budget spend on the same IT security in 2013.

On the other hand around two third of the respondents were of the opinion that it’s the security that matters to them the most.  In response to recent media reports on breaches and leaks many large organisations have planned to enhance their IT security system. However the survey also recorded that small companies and startups are still finding it difficult to protect their systems with strong firewalls and other security systems to repel hackers and intruders from their activities.

The survey also points out the possibility of making BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) as one of the topmost concern pushing back the lack of employee awareness to social engineering attacks to the second place. In the coming days the study will also cover other major aspects in IT which include employee awareness challenge, improved risk management, management of internal threat and risk management.
