Novel Computing Ideas Flood CES Floor

Bangalore: CES 2014 is witnessing a lot of hustle bustle as companies are luring consumers by showcasing superior technological products. The giants in the computing market have not left any leaf unturned and a classic example is the introduction of Edison by Intel. This novel creation will come in the size of an SD card. Those who have not set foot at the event might find it hard to believe but it’s true.

“It’s a full Pentium-class PC in the form factor of an SD card,” said Brian Krzanich, CEO of Intel. This ‘mini’ computer has a dual-core 22 nm Quark processor, RAM, WiFi, flash storage, and a microcontroller for real-time I/O with external devices.  The motive behind such an innovation is to make everything in life ‘smart’. The crowd at CES also witnessed the ‘smart turtle’ baby monitoring system which when attached to a baby’s clothing, keeps track of its heart rate.
