PCs Take New Turn, Banks on Android For Future

Android seems to be the new operating system that will take the PC world by storm. Companies including HP, Intel and Lenovo have plans to move over from the safe route of Windows and replace the desktops with Android operating systems.

HP sees Android as the mainstream “operating system of the future” and has proposed a series of Android powered business PCs. To deal with Windows legacy software, HP advises that users can use the Citrix Receiver (The Citrix Receiver is a remote desktop program that is used to deliver Linux, Unix, and Windows apps to any mobile or desktop operating system).

Unlike HP which is targeting business users, Lenovo’s N308 is designed for users who are familiar with using Android for browsing, games, and entertainment. The Lenovo N308, which can be used as a tablet as well as a desktop uses Nivdia Tegra Quad processor. The device runs on Android 4.2, has 500 GB of storage, 19.5-inch screen, a Webcam, keyboard, mouse, and has a battery life of 3.5 hours.

HP and Lenovo are cashing in on the Android bug, as they are sure that users will feel more secure and comfortable using a conventional desktop operating system than the Linux and other operating systems.
