Amazon's Own Market Place Is Now Open In India

Bangalore: The largest online retailer in U.S., Amazon.com, is now officially available in India as Amazon.in. It’s currently selling books, movies and TV shows, and the store is set to expand by adding mobiles, cameras and more.  With this, Amazon now offers the marketplace platform in 10 countries.

Amazon had previously launched Junglee.com, an aggregator site that listed deals from online retailers, while Amazon.in is the ecommerce giant’s own marketplace in the country.

Amazon also announced the near launch of two new programs, Selling on Amazon (SOA) and Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). The selling on Amazon will allow Indian retailers sell their products online on the site with no listing fees. While in FBA, the sellers will be able to send their products to an Amazon fulfillment centre, once the order is placed, the company will ship the products from the fulfillment centre to them.
