Imarticus Learning has just announced its acquisition of MyCaptain, an edtech startup, for around $6 million (about Rs 50 crore). This marks their fourth acquisition in just four years! With this move, Imarticus is ramping up its expansion strategy, bringing its employee count to over 850, which includes a growing number of former founders, all contributing to a robust team of entrepreneurs.

Founded in 2016 by Mohammed Zeeshan, Sameer Ramesh, and Ruhan Naqash, MyCaptain helps individuals discover and chase careers that align with their passions. The startup connects students with a network of young achievers across various fields, providing mentorship and support for those interested in creative and entrepreneurial paths.

MyCaptain boasts an impressive reach, tapping into over 1,500 campuses, with 60% of its customers hailing from tier 2 and 3 cities, and 80% of its users focused on creative and entrepreneurial education. The startup has successfully raised $4.7 million from several investors, including Ankur Capital, Firstport Ventures, Inflection Point Ventures, and the Singapore Angel Network.

Last year, MyCaptain reported a revenue of Rs 27 crore, achieving breakeven EBITDA in India. The acquisition will allow Imarticus Learning to leverage MyCaptain’s employability bootcamps, which cover emerging career tracks like Digital Marketing, Content, and Design, across more than 20 classroom centers in over 16 cities. Imarticus is eager to expand its offerings and reach even more learners!
