Anna University to Host 'Startup Cafe' to Encourage Entrepreneurship Among Students
Anna University will be hosting the 'Startup Cafe' to encourage entrepreneurship among students and faculty. The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) in association with StartupTN is hosting this event to give a platform for innovative startup ideas.
Applications are being invited by the university for startup ideas in major sectors like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Software as a Service (SaaS), and Internet of Things (IoT).
The last date for submission of applications is March 31, and every shortlisted idea will be given a grant of Rs 2 lakh to implement it. University officials stress that the aim of the event is to enable participants to convert their ideas into successful ventures. "We invite students and teachers from Anna University and other colleges in Tamil Nadu to explore their entrepreneurial skills.
The themes have been selected keeping in mind the needs of the industry now," said a faculty member. This event will also create room for students and early-stage companies to showcase and nurture innovative ideas, enhancing entrepreneurship in academic environments. Experts will also provide advice on developing startups, such as legal and administrative assistance, e.g., company registration and patent application.
