Young Aggarwals Dominate the Indian e-commerce Sector

Bangalore: India is a country known for its diversity but in its vast community outback lies its strength where every community strives to be the best. Today as we try to place ourselves in this quick growing community we can find few names that show up over; one of those are Aggrawals. The younger generations of Aggarwals are doing the e-commerce domain what their predecessors have done in the non virtual world of trade for years uncounted.

The Aggarwal community has no mean reputation - it is prosperous and has proven its mercantile mettle over centuries. Today companies like Flipkart, Snapdeal, and Myntra are run by young Aggrawals, which accounts for the majority of sales by e-commerce companies. And last year, for every 100 in funding for e-commerce companies, 40 went to firms founded by an Aggrawal.

"In many families, we are used to having strategy for breakfast, accounts for lunch and operations for dinner from an early age," said Chaitanya Aggarwal, 30, the founder and chief executive officer of Juvalia & You, an online shopping portal and an alumnus of Columbia Business School, Aggarwal worked as a hedge fund manager in New York before starting his businesses.
