10 Promising Tech Startups: Where are they now?
Airtime
Airtime was considered to be one of the most hyped startups. It was founded by Sean Parker and Shawn Fanning to enhance video chatting. It was launched in June 2012 and had a star studded launching through which it managed to raise around $33 million.
AppData, reports that this startup has just about 11,000 active users and has been struggling to gain traction in the last four months. Airtime is also facing few other problems as its co-founder and CTO is planning to step down from his day to day role, as reported by AllThingsD.
The company seems to have big plans in the future. "We have a very clear vision for what we are trying to accomplish, but we're very much in the learning process and exploring the synchronous web. In the future users can expect to see an evolution towards that big vision Sean has always been talking about - to a vibrant, live, synchronous community," says a spokesperson of Airtime.
