10 Promising Tech Startups: Where are they now?

Color

The Company gained initial traction because of its well known founders, Bill Nguyen (Founder of Lala, which was acquired by Apple) and Peter Pham (former CEO of the money-saving website BillShrink). Like Airtime, Color was much hyped for its concept and also managed to procure a massive sum of $41 million in its first round of funding. But once the app was launched, things took a different take and went downhill.

Color launched various products, it first released its photo sharing app for iPhone but the concept did not really catch up with users. After a period of 6 months, the startup focused on the creation of a short video sharing app which also provided the user with the benefit of connecting through facebook. The company partnered with Verizon to have Color's app pre-installed on most of the carrier's 4G LTE-enabled Android phones and this has widely increased its user base. The company also plans to update the current app featuring improvements to its live video sharing features.
