With recent statement from the all-rounder about his plan to take over as a coach after retirement floating all over cricket world, it is expected that the retirement could come just after tournament. He has been an active player of the Australian team that won the ICC World Cup on two occasions. He was seen in tremendous form during the Big Bash League (BBL) for Sydney Thunder who won the BBL 2015-16. T20 being the only major title to be won by Watson for a successful end to his international career.
