India Among Nations Where Women Work More Than Men
7. Canada:
The role of women in Canadian society has changed over the years. Women provide an unparalleled approach towards family affairs, education, employment, economic well-being, unpaid work and health. Most of the women in this country worked longer hours at home on domestic chores. Women outnumbered men by working for over 14 hours per week than men on housework, says OECD’s report.
8. South Korea:
South Korean women have experienced a massive social change over the years. It has been observed that social status of women have become sensibly equal to men in many social sectors like in occupation, legal rights, education, political participation, and other areas. Employment rate for South Korean women with high education degrees between the age of 25 and 64 was 61.2 percent in 2007, at the bottom among the OECD member countries. This shows that most of the women engage themselves in household work and as per the OECD’s report, women accounts upto 13.5 hours more per week than men in terms of housework.
