India Among Nations Where Women Work More Than Men

4. Spain:

Spaniard women now excelled in establishing their role unlike those in ancient days where women were restricted in choosing a profession of their own choice. Today, the role of women has increased tremendously in Spain, especially in politics but also in the labor market and other public areas. This is mainly because of the new laws that have officially eliminated all kinds of discrimination. So, many female Spaniards have left their traditional status as homemakers to become active in the fields of business, politics, and the military. Till now, traditional work like child rearing, gardening, taking care of the household, laundry work, and religious activities are also executed by women folks.

5. New Zealand:

Women in New Zealand enjoy the protection given through a strong constitutional framework giving them full and equal rights. The country continues to maintain its role as a leader in the field of gender equality. In this country, labour force participation rate for women has remained steady at around 62 percent. But women still bear the brunt of spending more time in household chores, in spite of spending more time in paid work outside the home.

6. Turkey:

Turkish women are mostly confined at home and their main profession is to look after all the household work, especially raising children. So, the participation rate of Turkish women in the work force is 28 percent, which is less than half the European Union average. Agriculture sector is another field where many women work.
