5. Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M)
Mahindra & Mahindra was founded in 1945 in Ludhiana by Mahindra brothers, K.C and J.C Mahindra along with M.G Muhammed.
After India Pakistan got separated, the company changed its name to Mahindra & Mahindra. It is the largest vehicle manufacturing company in India.
After obtaining the assembling license from Willy, this company came up with one of the most desired vehicles of all time, Jeep.
Today, M&M has some of the most loved brands in the automobile market. Bolero, Scorpio, Xylo, etc. From a quite long time, M&M is also working in the development of military vehicles.
6. Tata Motors
Tata Motors is one of the most important branch of the Tata Group with its headquarter in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
It is one of the leaders in the manufacturing of trucks, vans, passenger cars, buses, coaches and also military vehicles.
It has been ranked as the second largest bus manufacturer and the fourth largest truck manufacturer by volume.
Apart from India, this company has its R&D centers in Spain, South Korea and the United Kingdom. Tata Marcopolo is the joint venture of Tata Motors and Marcopolo S.A.
It made headlines in 2009 with the launch of ‘Nano’, the cheapest car in India.
