Virtual Memory
What it is: A time sharing concept

Data storage was redefined with the invention of concept of virtual memory. This technique virtualizes computer architecture's various forms of data storage developed by a team of researchers at University of Manchester working on Atlas project. They invented a way for computers to recycle memory space as they switched programs and users, and thus the virtual memory was born.

ASCII which was first developed from telegraphic codes, basically represents text in communications equipment, in computers and machines that use text. To accommodate accented letters, ASCII has been extended from 128 characters to 256.
