If Facebook Home Has A Market, It Is India!

Somini Sengupta, who writes for New York Times, says that, Brazil and India's huge Facebook user base offers potential market for operators and phone manufacturers; however, Facebook itself may not have any monetary advantages.

Parmy Olson of Forbes says that, ‘Facebook Home’ may fail to get traction in India despite it being a second largest Android market in the world; mobile handset market saw a growth of 75 percent in second half of 2012; and the country has third largest Facebook user base in the world. The reason she says is that, the messaging apps like Nimbuzz and Whatsapp will act like road block to ‘Facebook Home’ which offers an easy conversation between users to exchange images, messages or videos.

Nevertheless, India may turn out to be a good market for ‘Facebook Home’ and not necessarily for Facebook, the company.
