#7 Mike Lazaridis thought the BlackBerry Storm could counter the iPhone

In 2008, BlackBerry (Then Research In Motion) enjoyed a huge success as Smartphone maker. And it was the time when its loyal consumers frenetically wanted a touch-screen handset. BlackBerry ‘s first touch screen handset, BlackBerry Storm was full of bugs and users found it very difficult to use, which ultimately sent them to find solace in Apple.  

BlackBerry co-founder Mike Lazaridis, who could have turned game around in 2008 had failed to do so. He stepped down as co-CEO in late 2011, and recently quit BlackBerry's board of directors, severing his last tie with the company.

It's been six years since Apple launched its gaming-changing iPhone and BlackBerry is only now coming up with a credible challenger, the BlackBerry 10, which is too little, too late.
