Though young when compared to other IITs, about 18 years old, it has marked a steady position in the top 10 T-School list. IIT Guwahati has signed MoUs (memorandum of understanding) with various European and South East Asian institutions on research collaboration, faculty, and student exchange. During this year, a number of national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and courses were organized like the International Conference on Advanced Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology (ICANN-2011), International Conference on Computational Methods in Manufacturing (ICCMM 2011) etc. The placement scenario at IIT Guwahati during the last year has been good. A total of 104 companies from various sectors participated in the recruitment process and recruited 90 percent of the undergraduate students registered for placement.
