Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer Delivers a Baby Boy

Bangalore: “Baby boy Bogue born last night. Mom (@marissamayer) and baby are doing great--we couldn't be more excited!”- tweeted Zachary Bogue, the husband of Marissa Mayer, after Yahoo’s CEO gave birth to a baby boy, adding a new title to her life other than the “young savior of Yahoo.”

Marissa had announced her pregnancy on her social network accounts hours after she had been hired as the Yahoo’s CEO. But the birth came a week ahead of the October 7 due date that Mayer shared with the public in July. The pregnancy news had amplified with the buzz about Mayer's defection from Google Inc., where she spent 13 years as a key executive overseeing some of the services that helped to drag down Yahoo.

On her arrival at Yahoo, Marissa had infused many changes, focusing mainly on motivating the workforce of the ailing tech giant- including the latest distribution of free iPhones, Galaxy S3s and Lumias to the employees.

The birth came three weeks before the much anticipated third quarter earnings call, which is scheduled for October 22. Mayer is expected to share her blueprint for infusing a new life to Yahoo, on that day. Till then, Mayer, 37, intends to work from home for a brief period while remaining involved in all key company decisions. She will return to her office at Yahoo's Sunnyvale, Calif. headquarters in one to two weeks, company spokeswoman Anne Espiritu said.
