4. QUBE- Set-Top Box

The idea of two way TV is not new, dig back 30 years in the history of television, you will come across a name QUBE, an interactive service introduced by Warner cable in 1970s. QUBE set –top box feature enabled the viewers to access 30 channels, chip in polls, and bid in auctions and even play basic video games.

There was so much to offer from the technology but then too it failed to stay alive. Why? Because of the high cost, that never reduced and remained unaffordable for the common masses.

5. HyperCard

HyperCard is an application program and programming tool for Apple Macintosh and IIGS computers, released in 1987 was the first successful hypermedia system before the World Wide Web. It combines database capabilities with a graphical and user- modifiable interface.

The introduction of HyperCard from one computer to a network was not satisfactory and since then it became outdated and the technology was withdrawn from the market in 2004.
