Bangalore: In today’s era where people hardly have time for one another and even for oneself, there are still some countries where generosity emerges as the best policy. As per the global survey based on the three categories: direct donations to charity, volunteering personal time and a willingness to help strangers, here are the list of such countries as compiled by World Giving Index-

1. Australia:

Australia, a developed country and one of the wealthiest in the world, with the world's 12th-largest economy is also known for its generosity. As per the global giving index, it emerges as the world’s most generous country. In Australia, about 70 percent of the population are actively involved in philanthropy activities and not just that they doesn’t give a second thought to shell out their money to charities. In a fast moving world where people even hardly get time for themselves, around 38 percent and 64 percent Australians  volunteered time for an organization and also helped stranger in need.
