Ireland has been ranked as the most generous country in Europe and the second most generous country in the world. The research 79 percent of Irish people donate money to charity and 64 percent of people help strangers. This year, Volunteer Ireland found there was an increase in the number of people volunteering in Ireland where 37 percent give up their time for good causes.
Yvonne McKenna, CEO of Volunteer Ireland, said, “The research highlights the remarkable generosity of spirit that continues to thrive in Ireland throughout difficult times,” reports Irishpost.
“Connecting with people is something that is inherent to our culture in Ireland and this is reflected in the statistics,” added McKenna.

3. Canada:
Canada, a federal parliamentary democracy is now the third most generous nation in the world. It is a developed country and one of the wealthiest in the world, with the eighth highest per capita income globally, and the eleventh highest ranking in the Human Development Index. It ranks among the highest in international measurements of education, government transparency, civil liberties, quality of life, and economic freedom. In regards to Canada, the pollsters found that 64 percent of Canadians donate, 35 percent volunteer and 68 percent help a stranger, says world giving index.
