While applying to any B-School your resume can play a key role. You should know what type of resume will increase your chances of selection. A resume is very important document and almost all universities ask for a resume with your application. A student should be well aware of how to write an impressive resume. Here are some useful tips to write a good resume for your B-School application.

Use right format: One thing which makes your resume readable is its appearance. Do not choose a format which is outdated. Use a format which is simple and readable. It should not be too heading dominated. Always use same font for all headings and text and avoid a font which is attractive but tough to read.

Use contact details as heading: While writing your resume you should use your name, address, landline number, mobile number and email id on the top as heading. You can use bigger font size for your name and rest you can present in font size 12.

Brief purpose of study: When you write resume for B-School you should also write a brief purpose or biography. Most of the students write one line in purpose or biography to make it simple and crisp. But many industry experts suggest that a prospective student should write one to three lines to describe his/her purpose of study.

List all schools and ranks: Include all your school names, ranks and any academic awards you’ve receive. Also mention your high school grades, and the year you passed your higher school.

Mention your activities: List all activities in which you have participated in school time. Write names of communities, sports, dramas, competitions you participated and mention the awards you received.

Highlight your skills: In this section mention the skills you’ve acquired, like if you know any foreign language, computer skills, internet research skills or any other.

Mention work experience: In this section mention your work experience, there is no harm in describing it. Mention your employee details, your designation, or projects you worked for, your potential and your total work experience.
