History
Bangalore School of BusinessSix years ago, BSB started its operations from Bangalore – the tech-capital of India. Some eminent academicians and industry people came together for this initiative. On the sheer strength of their determination, hard work and innovations BSB carved a niche of academic excellence, which is recognized by all the stakeholders. Every passing day has seen BSB grow from strength to strength.

BSB started its campus in Delhi in 2007. The upward trajectory of BSB is setting up new parameters of success every day. Now BSB has four campuses of which BSB Kolkata was established in 2009, and Hyderabad and Nagpur campuses of BSB have been set up in 2010. The dynamics of business is reflected in every aspect of life at BSB. Moreover, BSB is one of its kinds B-School, which offers advantage of learning in four of the most vibrant and thriving cities of the country: Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata. Overview
The operation of business enterprises is undergoing constant change. The change is rapid, more pervasive and the environment ever more competitive. The enterprises need managers who can manage the changes more effectively. They have to be flexible and adaptable and willing to learn constantly. They have to think quicker, work smarter and dream wilder: in short, they have to be leaders.

Post Graduate Program in Business Practices and Corporate Leadership precisely aim at developing the skills in the students which will make them successful managers in today's fast changing corporate world, not only in terms of speed but also in scope requiring cross-training employees and cross-functional managers. This program is run in close association with the industry where students go for various live projects, trainings, visits and workshops. This is an opportunity for the students to apply their learned skills in practical situations and come back to BSB to discuss any deviations they may face in the actual working in the industry and the concepts they learn.

A Diploma in Personality and Career Enhancement Skills and French Language is also an integral part of the course. In this the students are provided with skill sets on soft skills and communication skills making them ready to work in the corporate environment.

A Diploma in Computer Applications furnishes the students with enough knowledge to work in technology friendly environment and cope up with the challenges of e-business.

The PGP & an MBA degree from a UGC recognized university thus making them more operational for the industry.

Various industrial visits enable the students to experience first hand knowledge of ongoing projects as well as industrial processes. The guest lectures by top professionals from industry and academic world and corporate trainers provide the student insight into rich experiences of the lecturers and interact with them.

Students are subjected to rigorous academic pressures. They are expected to meet deadlines and constantly make efforts to improve their performance. Constant evaluation and improvement is resorted to. Yoga, Stress Management and meditation also form an integral part of the curriculum.

Specialization
We provide a number of specializations of management sciences, both in PGP curriculum and MBA Degree. These specializations are aimed to provide expertise to the students in the field of their interest and preference out of the emerging sectors.

 Production
Production management generally deals with various internal and external movements and flows within an organization that affect its efficiency. These flows could be processes, relationships, vendor development, ancillary management, etc. Usually students who have a keen inclination towards these areas can go for production specialization. A student with specialization in production might start off as a manufacturing executive, product supervisor and go on to be the technical product manager of the division. Further career growth may include general manager of a division and finally up to chief technology officer (CTO) of a company. Engineering, manufacturing and IT companies look for such managers.

Finance
As an essential and swiftly emerging aspect of business activity, the finance specialization is a popular choice for MBA students. The Finance faculty ensures that students obtain a wide range of skills and background knowledge to prepare for challenging and rewarding careers. This specialization presents future managers with actual business problems to learn to apply the tools of financial analysis to strategic decisions faced by the firm, such as capital budgeting, capital structure, use of derivatives, and currency exposure management. It also highlights the role of financial management as a source of value creation in a competitive environment characterized by rapid technological, personal, and market changes.

Human Resources
Employees are the most vital asset for an organization. HR department is accountable to select, recruit, train and cater to the needs of employees. Hence, management personnel in HR department need efficient management of people, effective communication with employees, and good labor relations. An student with specialization in Human Resources will combine the generic MBA with specialized human resources training such as employee training and recruitment, planning and mediation. Students also learn how to integrate HR strategies with the company’s overall human resources plan.

Marketing
Marketing is the significant and dynamic force of any successful organization. The concept of marketing is elementary to an organization’s overall strategy. Key marketing activities include designing new products, innovation in existing products, pricing, logistics, sales management, and gathering market information. A student with marketing specialization are provided with the skill set to develop new product strategy, set prices, devise advertising policy, enhance distribution, plan public relation and promotion programs and to stay abreast with the current trends such as the impact of the Internet. The marketing specialization helps students for careers in areas such as sales, consulting, brand management, market research, international marketing, and marketing of financial services, etc.

Systems
The last few decades have witnessed the emergence of Information Technology (IT) /Management Information Systems (MIS) as a major function of any industry, from being just a departmental function earlier. For people specializing in systems, the career opportunities are many as the combination of managerial and technical skills is an asset many companies would want to employ. One can join as System Analyst and then go on to Technical Systems Manager and ultimately on to Chief Information Officer (CIO). Business Development Manager and Technical Consultant are also roles one could start with. Generally, IT Companies recruit MBA-Systems.

Retail Management
The historical development of the industry is traced and the current structure and dynamics across a variety of industry sectors are examined in detail. Thereafter insight is provided in Retail Environment, Retail Business, Consumer Behavior, Buying and Supply-chain Dynamics, and Retail Operations leading to exploring Retail Strategies. Upon completion of the course students will be able to:

Health Care Management
Health Care Management refers to comprehensive business study to meet the requirements of healthcare industry. This industry is faced with varied management issues and challenges. This program imparts the required knowledge and helps you pick up the skill to sort out the issue. HealthCare management focuses its course on the theories and practices of health business. The course concentrates on several issues related to the industry like healthcare financing and healthcare risk assessment and regulations. Healthcare management degree teaches you the art of strategy making because health care industry is closely connected to insurance provider

Entrepreneurial Management
This course addresses the issues faced by managers who wish to turn opportunity into viable organizations that create value, and empowers students to develop their own approaches, guidelines, and skills for being entrepreneurial managers.

International Business Management
Thanks to the technological developments, especially in the field of communication, many domestic enterprises are operating as multinational without crossing the border of the country. This requires familiarity with international business and management issues and practices. The specialization aims to achieve a higher level of understanding and critical awareness of the main issues in strategic management, and of concepts, models and techniques associated with strategic decision-making in organizations, functioning of international trade organizations, agreements on trades and tariffs among countries, foreign exchange transactions and regulations, etc. enabling graduates from the program to enter a general career in International Business Management. Candidates after completing the course may look for the jobs available in the
export companies,
public sector trading organizations,
International banks and companies having subsidiaries in other countries.

The students are encouraged to take up specialization of their choice and interest; however the BSB is responsible to run only those specializations which are opted by a minimum of 5 students in a batch.
