WhatsApp Adds Voice Messaging, Updates To Be Rolled Out Today
If you receive a voice message on the app, simply take the handset to your ear to play it.
Like a green check mark that shows up after the SMS is delivered, you get a blue blinker notification after your record is delivered.
The CEO, Jan Koum, also took this opportunity to announce that the app has garnered over 300 million users across the world and that users send 11 and receive 20 billion messages; and 325 million photos are shared every day, as reported by AllThingsD.
India has more than a 20 million user base, and the other countries which share a similar figure include Germany, Mexico and Spain.
WhatsApp has Voxer and WeChat as its competitors as both offer similar voice chat features.
