Secure Computing Corporation is a company that has come through a long way since its first product release, which was ranked as pretty average by analysts. Since then, the company has done some real hard work as in bringing a crisp product to the enterprise space and the end result is SecureZone. With a newly designed interface and a highly ranked performance, SecureZone is primarily a proxy-based firewall that provides a long list of proxies. The FTP proxy regulates create, delete and rename operations of files and directories, as well as put and get operations. The HTTP proxy filters out Java and ActiveX, and also has built-in URL filtering with the additional benefit of caching pages. SecureZone cannot scan for any virus, although this feature is planned for a future release.

#3 CyberGuard Corp. CyberGuard Firewall Release 4.0

CyberGuard is a proxy based firewall that comprises itself with an average list of proxies.  But what makes CyberGuard rank so high is that it includes the option of allowing straight packet filtering. The product also features pretty clear and concise interface. The Multiple Virtual Secure Environments (MVSE) system within the product carefully isolates all processes, files and directories, and approves only communications that are absolutely necessary among them. The CyberGuard is also the only product that is certified by the Department of Defense’s National Computer Security Center.
