The Rise in Cost of Mobile Data for Enterprises

According to Visage, from 2010 to 2011 the mobile traffic growth experienced was 1.33 times, along with a global growth of over 8 times from 2000 to 2011. Another problem that enterprises should look at is that Visage predicts an 18x global mobile traffic data growth from 2011 to 2016. As for now, around 52 percent of exploited mobile data was contributed by video presentations.

More Speed More Data Usage:

With the outcast of 3G and even 4G networks over the wireless platform, it’s clear that- better the speed more will be the data usage. Visage reports that only in 2011, mobile network speeds has increased by 66 percent. This number clearly indicates that it’s just a beginning, as mobile platforms are set to shift from 3G networks to super fast 4G LTE network. With 45 percent of the mobile systems already embracing 3G and over 60 percent thinking of shift to 4G by 2013, the rise in usage and cost of mobile data is all set to rampage across the global infrastructure.

Another major issue that enterprises face is in data management. Security, hacks, internet lock downs and data loss are just some of the major factors that contribute this sector. IT leads and admins must somehow figure out and make sure that application management and data deployment is top notch and right employees are having the right apps.
