Henry Ford, an American industrialist was the founder of the Ford Motor Company that took his name in the year 1903. He was a sponsor for the development of the assembly line technique of mass production. Ford is often mistaken as the inventor of the car but in real he was the one who developed and manufactured the first automobile that many middle class Americans could afford to purchase. Model T automobile which was introduced by Ford had revolutionized transportation and American automobile industry. For over a century, his family runs automobile industries successfully. Though Ford had left the world in the year 1947, he is among the world’s wealthiest person to have ever lived, with a net worth equivalent to $199 billion modern dollars.

6. Marshall Field:

Marshall Field, Chicago Business tycoon was the founder of Marshall Field and Company, the Chicago-based department stores. Even today he is considered one of the world’s wealthiest men with a worth of $66 billion at the time of his death in 1906. Field’s well known philosophy the “customer is always right” is still followed by many people. Though, he had been quite successful in his Chicago real estate ventures, he’ll always be remembered for his department stores.
