India Ranks Low on Nutrition Index

India’s approach and development does seem promising and if it is seen through with its complete implementation of proper resources and foresight, it can bring a great deal of improvement in the nutritional condition on the Indian children.

As per the report, in 2014 the fourth National Family Health Survey is scheduled and this year a district level data collection survey is programmed to find more accurate data on the current nutrition outcomes.

The nutrition barometer provides a collective report on the national governments planning towards child nutrition and the improvements made. It was filed on 36 developing countries which homes about 90 percent of world’s under nourished children.

The world health assembly will implement methods to work on the maternal, infant and young child nutrition measures, targeting a reduction in the number of stunted children by 40 percent by 2025.

Apart from collecting and presenting data on the government commitments in handling malnutrition concerns, the report also glances at the country’s financial commitment towards the health and nutrition. As said by the report, among the developing countries Malawi, Guatemala and Peru show high nutrition commitments and survival rate.

The report also gives recommendations and resolutions to tackle malnutrition, which can only show results when combined with the effective efforts of each country and their governments. With India showing spectacular economic growth, it still has to implement better methods to pull people out of the poverty margin and provide better aid in fighting the nutritional upheaval.
