India, China among the Less Business Friendly Nations



Beijing was considered friendly or very friendly towards business by 28 percent of the surveyed executives, which was at 30 percent in the first quarter of the year. As reasoned for the lack of business spirit, Xi Jinping, the new leader of the Communist party claimed that lately the country’s leaders have been distracted due to certain party scandal as per the Financial Times.

Russia and India share a similar trend, highlighted by the survey data, which showed a reversal of some gains in business friendliness earlier this year. Even then they are seen as more interested in business then in the first quarter of 2012.

Russia tops the charts as the most unfriendly towards business with 54 percent of the surveyed executives who viewed Moscow as the least tolerant in the leading emerging economy. The score has hiked in the last three months from 52 percent. Only 15 percent of the respondents believed Russian government to be business friendly.

36 percent surveyed executives considered Indian government to be unfriendly towards business which was 32 percent in last three months. The increase has occurred despite the announcement of Indian government of its economic reforms, by welcoming the foreign investors in the country’s aviation and retail sectors. Only 29 percent executives considered Indian administration to be friendly.
