Expats Find India an Attractive Destination to Work in

The challenge in India is to build a strong network for the expats here, which currently is an inhibiting factor to them in order to find an executive job, says the study. It informed that the difficulty occurs due to the way relationships are built and maintained. However, the study revealed that most of the foreign origin expats did not find it hard to get access to the executive positions in India.

59 percent of the polled executives in the survey have observed the increasing change in the Indian workforce, where workers have joined from diverse nationalities.  The survey said, “India's growing manufacturing strength, coupled with a simultaneous slowdown in western countries, has led to a wave of well-educated migrants from wealthier, more developed countries, leaving behind slow economies in search of job prospects and opportunities they can’t find at home,” as reported by Business Standard.

The other important motivator which has fuelled the current trend is the increasing pay package in India, for the top ranking designations.   Felix said, “The salaries offered to expats in senior management positions as part of the expat package is comparable to the international standards, which is another factor that prompted expats to prefer India as a destination.”
