5 Whistleblowers Who Blew the Lid off Scams

Marc Hodler:
Marc Hodler was a Swiss lawyer, President of the International Ski Federation, member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) from 1963 until his death, and bridge player. He is best known for having exposed the Olympic bid scandal for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter games in December 1998. He was the first official to use the word "bribe" to describe the means used by Salt Lake City to win the vote for the 2002 Games. Due to repeated failures Salt Lake officials decided that they were going to get the games for sure. They gave cash, jobs, expensive trips, etc to IOC members in order to secure their votes. It is because of Hodler that the scam was exposed and numerous members were sacked and new set of rules were introduced in the Olympics. Hodler died at the age of 87 after suffering a stroke in Switzerland.
