3. Amado Carrillo Fuentes:
Amado Carrillo Fuentes was the most powerful Mexican drug lord who took control over the Juárez Cartel. He is known as the “Lord of the Skies” because of his fondness for large fleet of jets to transport drugs and financed the jets at throw away amount of more than 20 million via Colombia.
He was regarded as one of the richest drug traffickers in history with estimated assets of $ 25 billion. Carrillo was also described as the most powerful drug trafficker of his era by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
Carrillo was being tracked by Mexican and the U.S. authorities during his final days. But his giant life came to a tragic end on 3rd July in the year 1997 after undergoing extensive plastic surgery to change his appearance in a Mexican hospital. His death in the hospital is still cloaked in mystery.
