5 People Who Died While Proving A Retarded Point

Garry Hoy

Who Was He? Garry Hoy was a lawyer for the Holden Day Wilson law firm, Canada.

What He Tried To Prove and What Happened? He claimed that the glass walls of the building where he worked can never break. Garry throw himself against the window of high floors in the Toronto-Dominion Centre to show that the glass was extremely strong.

At a night party, Garry performed his trick again and succeeded in front of his partners at the firm. But on his second attempt, he crashed through the window of the 24th floor, falling 72 meters to his death.

The firm’s spokesperson said in an interview that the glass didn’t break, it popped out of the frame. (Garry was ultimately correct!). His death contributed to the closing of the law firm.
