The Haryana Khaps have been in news this year for many reasons; some of them even border irrationality. They got the press attention for demanding reservation for their people in government jobs. Also the increased number of rape victims in Haryana has given the Khaps an opportunity to come up with solutions that questions logic, like lowering the age of marriage for girls to avoiding these awful incidents. Further, the other suggestion was to ban all fast food joints in the state, as they feel it will be a remedy to the crisis. Lately they were in news for amending the Hindu Marriage Act and asking to shut the liquor vendors in religious towns in the state.

Yuvraj Singh is the Indian cricketer who has not only proved himself on the field but has won the fight against cancer too. In 2011 he was diagnosed with cancer and he has been making news in terms of his recovery and working to get back in the game this year. He was covered in news after coming back from his treatment, when the veteran cricketers were making a check on how he needs to focus on playing more Test series. He was lately featured for launching a drive to detect cancer at an early stage.
