Silverlight is a Microsoft technology for creating rich media apps for the Web. It's Microsoft's alternative to Adobe Flash.

Although Microsoft won't formally admit it, Silverlight's lifespan is limited. So it is not recommended to learn Silverlight skills now. Microsoft has thrown its support behind the upcoming HTML5 standard. Windows 8 style apps don't support Silverlight.

There are only a few developers who know Silverlight, so it has such a high worth.

(ISC)² offers one of the most respected security certifications, CISSP or the Certified Information Systems Security Professional. It is a top-tier certification and you can't obtain it until you've worked for at least five years as a security professional.
