Cher Wang as a co-founder and Chairwoman of HTC Corporation, Taiwan's leading tech business, is recognized as "the most powerful woman in wireless" by Forbes. Along with being a billionaire she excels in the tech-world overseeing the development of Smartphone and mobile technology.

She is also the Co-founder of VIA Technologies, a supplier of PC processor platforms, along with her husband Wen Chi Chen and a Taiwan representative on the APEC Business Advisory Council. At the same time HTC plays as an industry partner of the World Economic Forum.

One of her greatest strategy was to turn HTC a friend to both Google and Microsoft, there by having a mutual benefit of selling the former’s Smartphones and the latter’s Smartphone operating systems.

Though ranked as the 276th richest person in the world with an estimated personal wealth of $4 billion, by Forbes Magazine, she enjoys focusing on business while complaining that media is too much interested in portraying her as rich.

While listing Wang among the top 10 women in the world of technology, Leighton says that the impulse that made her start HTC was her thirst to develop products that allow easier and more efficient communication and that cater to consumer desires.
