IBM also claims to have more patents than any other company in America, including those related to the Watson supercomputer.

IBM’s primary advanced research facilities are in Yorktown, New York and Massachusetts as located in Cambridge.

 #2 Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology

Though known to be a copycat of others, Samsung is recognized as an innovative company on its own.

At Samsung’s Advanced Institute of Technology, the company aims at good amount of research, working on 3D holography and carbon nanotube technology.

Samsung’s work on futuristic technology is currently focused in Japan. There are other research sites around the world as well.
