10 Inventors Killed By Their Own Inventions

#5 Harry Houdini

Houdini was considered as one of the best magicians the world ever saw. His sensational escape acts and tricks amazed the world.

Well, Houdini’s death cannot be accounted into something caused by his innovation, but still it is related to the act of “physical” trick he usually performed.

The circumstance of death of this world famous magician was dramatic and mysterious. Before one of his performance in Montreal, a student asked Houdini to demonstrate the trick of his physical ability to absorb the blows to the body without causing any injuries. Upon the magician’s permission, the student rained a series of blows on his stomach.

The impact of the blows on that day was enough to rupture Houdini’s already inflamed appendix. The world famous magician died after a few days following a failed surgery to save his life from peritonitis caused due to his ruptured appendix.
