10 Game Changers of the Internet Infrastructure

7. Barry Evans, CEO, Calexda:

One of the innovator who thought out of the box and was the butt of the joke for his ideas, Barry Evans heads Calexda that is developing server that will use the same chip as that in the cell phone. Calexda is dedicated to building servers that use the low power ARM architecture. Calexda is already working with HP to deliver a complete system. And in the models that Calexda is preparing the software architecture will become less pertinent as the layers of abstraction on top will interweave the infrastructure together. And the best part, it’s working!
6. Frank Frankovsky, VP, Infrastructure for Facebook:

Frank had helped Compaq build the first servers based on Intel chips back in the 1990 but today he is helping Facebook build servers that became the model for their Open Compute Project. He is not only responsible for the servers but also handles the hardware design and supply chain for Facebook’s physical infrastructure. Frank stands to help sway how the bulk of the world’s potential compute providers built their infrastructure.
