Microsoft Bob: 1 year

Microsoft came up with Microsoft Bob software product in March 1995. Microsoft Bob was extensively revealed prior to that date below the codename "Utopia", which provided a new, non-technical edge to desktop computing operations. But it turned out to be one of Microsoft's more visible product failures. Microsoft's Steve Ballmer mentioned Bob as an example of a situation "where we decided that we have not succeeded and let's stop". It was killed one year after its launch and Bill Gates said, "Unfortunately, the software demanded more performance than typical computer hardware could deliver at the time and there wasn't an adequately large market."
