Moscow which is the capital and the most heavily populated region of Russia ranks at the fifth place from its earlier thirteenth rank in the survey conducted by ECA international for the costliest countries for foreigners. The city being the main political, economic, cultural and scientific center, offers a wide range of entertainment and offers a wide range of good food with a movie tickets priced at $16.27, a peg of beer costing $10.77 at a bar and just $1.80 for a bottle of soda. Food items like eggs are charged at $3.53for a dozen.

6. Tokyo:

Tokyo, the capital city of Japan, which has topped the list of ECA International for three consecutive years, no longer holds that title. It has swept down to sixth place in the most recent reports of ECA. But in Asia, it still retains as the costliest city for expats. One can get to watch a good movie by paying $19.09 per head and an affordable drink like soda for only $1.61. An amount of $9.18 will be charged to get tipsy at a bar. Tokyo city has come down from its priciest position tag mainly due to the weakening yen which has fallen as much as 20 percent since December 2012, according to ECA survey 2013.
