#5th Russia: Oil consumption: 2.7 million barrels per day

Russia is among the largest oil producing country in the world and also the top most consumer in the world. Russia’s more than 50 percent of the budget revenues carries oil and gas revenues. This country is highly dependent on oil as it is among the largest country area wise and it also accommodates the large population as well. With the growing industries, infrastructures, products and machines, the need for oil is increasing and is majorly consumed.

 

#4th India: Oil consumption: 3.1 million barrels per day

Attributed to its large geography and amongst the most populated country in the world, oil is major need of India. As it is amongst the developing new economies of the world, it needs oil to keep its industries going and help sustain and fund the emerging ones. Increasing number of vehicles in the country also is funded by oil. Apart from the major oil consumption from the industrial and technological field, Oil is heavily consumed in the Indian households as well. As it is a hard fact that India has a major population of poor in the country, oil is used in stoves as well as lighting purposes.
