Brief description about me
Raj Ganguly is a leading consultant in the fields of finance and marketing and is at the forefront of the new generation of India based business gurus. A qualified cost accountant Raj understands the business models from conception to productivity. His inveterate scientific mind compelled him to gather further qualifications as Master in Management Consultancy as well as an MBA.
With over 20 years of experience, Raj brings on board a diversified understating and knowledge of sectors like engineering, telecommunication, supply chain, finance etc. Raj has undergone extensive training from Leeds Chamber of Commerce, Business Link & Asian Trade Links (Yorkshire) in consulting business start-ups. Raj is also a member of "Chartered Management Institute, Central Yorkshire.
Raj Ganguly is the Founder Director of "Raj Ganguly and Associates" a multi-interest consulting firm. A champion networker Raj is a trained mentor and a social thinker. He is also the first Asian to win the"Proof of Concept" award in the UK. His exhaustive, sector based research on various economies have added value to the current researches in areas of outsourcing, corporate governance and celebrity advertising.
Born to a research scientist, the early years of Raj's career were "genetically" oriented to seek logic in what seemed a natural progression to studying the consulting industry in its entirety. The consulting industry often dominated by gray-haired intellectuals with receding hairlines sees Raj as a welcome change.
Raj has worked with some of the best management "thought leaders" in the UK. His close association with Prof. John Turner honed his skills in reforming strategies. Nick Beech, winner of the National Teaching Award guided him to be a professional mentor. Dr. Steve Letza- Chair of Corporate Governance in UK helped Raj understand Corporate Governance from a global perspective. Raj has a thesis on corporate governance to his credit and aspires to inculcate his experience in the Indian context.
Raj has an undying passion for social issues and has been always available to render his voice and hand to restore hope in humanity. He single handedly raised a sum of 3000 pounds on behalf of Red Cross for the devastating tsunami that wrecked havoc in 2004. Raj was also actively involved in Kirkstall Village Community an NGO established for the welfare of the community. Raj hopes to raise enough money one day to set up a state of the art cancer hospital for the poor in memory of his mother. His social awareness instigated his thought process, which resulted in a business model that made him the first Asian to win the "Proof of Concept" award in Britain.

My achievement
Personally, I’ve not achieved anything great to be proud of. I strongly feel I would be proud the day I would be able to do my country proud.
My thoughts on our education system
Needs to re-structure the entire education system. A major time is wasted to make students unlearn or de-learn what they have learnt in College. The syllabus should be more practical and future-oriented or relevant to the professions where students wants to be associated with in future.

The major decision was to leave my job and start something of my own around 10 years back.
