A Fine Balance:
It’s really an individual thing and it comes down to a variety of factors. How much do you need to rest to become optimally productive for the week that follows? Personally, I need a day. Some need two, but don’t ask me how they do it.I decide on the time to recharge my batteries and am honest.
Plans for the Future
I had recently moved in to Corporate University at Polaris from the Quality Team . I see myself as a credible coach (quality and Project Management)improvising my Quality exp. which would provide me a sense of satisfaction and professionally useful to my organization.
Most Important Decisions
The very decision of me moving from the Quality team to the Corporate University is I think an important decision in my life and I strongly feel I can prove to be more useful to my team and Organization.
Role Model
It is definitely my company's Chairman &CEO Mr.Arun Jain.He is a man with great thoughts, very dynamic and great Leader. I had not met him in person. But when ever or whereever I had seen him even at the end of the day He looks really fresh. That positive vigor and endurance in him inspires me a lot.
Degrees that Matter
I am a Certified PMP with Six Sigma Black Belt and ITIL V3 Certified. I would definitely recommend doing any of the certifications I had done as long as it adds value to their profession.
Required Reading
I would recommend all the readers who want to excel in QA/Testing to read through the BOK in each of these areas. CSQA/QM are recommended for QA aspirants and CSTE/TM for QC aspirants.
Current and Previous Responsibilities
My Responsibility in the current role is in the areas of Learning and Development. I would be involved in the Process and Project Management Trainings,Design Participant guides for the same. As my passion was in training I have an opportunity to leverage my Quality Assurance Experience into training
Areas for the Future
As i had already stated CSQA/QM/CSTE/TM would certrainly matter. Would also recommend the PMP to understand the Project Management framework. The key would lie in the participation of various Quality/Testing forums where you get to learn practical information.
Parting thoughts
Silicion India has been a great news letter which keeps me on top of all the corporate happenings. I would like to place on record the commendable work of the Silicaon India Editorial team to pick up and publish "Right On time,Every time"
Most Important Lessons
I was provided an opportunity to go to US when i was working with the previous company and I had to fore go that due to personal reasons. Lesson Learnt: "Opportunity knocks on your doorsteps only once, so grab it"
Essential Advice
QA/Testing is a really challenging area.I would recommend the aspirants to have their hand on Development then move into either QA/Testing so that they would be appreciating the depth of the role better.
The Journey So Far
Interestingly i started off as a Medical Rep. and moved into software. I had joined Ramco Systems where I served for around 11 yrs. I then moved to PolarisFT Ltd where i had been part of the Quality team and currently moved to Learning and Development where I would leverage my Quality and other exp
Tech trends to watch out for
New and emerging technologies such as mobile apps, tablets, 4G, cloud computing, and HTML5 are making big headlines and impacting software engineering and testing organizations in various industries. These innovations are allowing sensitive data to be accessed through the web posing challenges.
Changes in the industry
The Processes are made really stringent as we had moved through as the customer demands had increased. I feel role expectations had become more.
