Most Rewarding Moment
I am teaching in a school which was govt. assisted for financial matters. Although the school is provincialised by the state-govt. this year. When I joined the School, I had a mix of Students in the Class, some were very Good, but some used to come to School only as a time-pass, it appeared. But When I got trained in B.Ed, I could realise what those students missed in their lower classes. Now a days I Take the weakest of the students, analyse him for what he missed to learn, start them afresh, and when they succeed in the board, I feel immensly rewarded.
Important Lesson
Yes, Firstly, as a teacher we shouldn't estimate our students as per our standard of learning. Once in my early years as a teacher, I had one girl showing me her answers every day, and I presumed that she was regular and good at learning. But during Examination, her answerscript was blank. on enquiring I got to know that in order to attract attention, she copied from her elders. Now I have learned a lesson and always cross verify whether the answers are their own or copied. I always inspire my children to be original(Not neccesarily correct always).
Favorite Non-Academic books
I read almost everything, Novels, poems, stories Newspaper Articles, Comics and whatever I think my students may be exposed to, I try to get a preknowledge, so that I can answer them correctly. Also I try to study articles on child behaviour, Impacts of family and society on the pupils, etc
My priorities
I have a fixed time job so I finish academic activities at School only. for other I enlist the work for a week and decide the most priority.
About Me
I am a High School teacher working for last twenty years. As a student I was not very remarkable, but whatever I learnt I tried to learn upto root. This helped me focus on the subjects I teach. I like to grasp knowledge of other fields also like accounts, finance, etc.
Unique way of teaching
One to one relationship could me made between pupil and teachers. A system could be made where a teacher can guide a pupil from early childhood. Also I have found some small boys feeling shy with female teachers and also small girls with male teachers. So every class starting from pre school should have male and female teachers both
My Advice
A person willing to become a teacher must build the quality of a teacher first. They should be properly trained, be open to new ideas and new challenges
Outlook about way to raise quality education
In India most of the teachers are lesser trained, ill paid and ill motivated. at the same time they are more socialy exploited. India needs well trained, motivated and wellpaid teachers. teaching proffesion should be opened as a first choice not the last as the scene is today. They should aptly involved in social activities but give first priority to his/her profession
Outlook about increase students’ participation
Students should be involved in various socioeconomic studies, so that they could get more first hand knowledge and experience. Now a days teachers are involved in such activities at the cost of education. If students are also involved, they can work in a team and teaching learning process continues as well as various surveys
Way to motivate Students
I use all available gadgets, from chalk to markers and from pointers to projectors. I work in laboratory, and try to involve students also.
Strongest Subject
Physics is my strongest subject, since I had major in it at graduation. My teacher helped me learn physics so that I could explain it to a layman
Most Challenges facing by students
The Biggest challenge today faced by students is lesser informed teachers, Over burdened examination/evaluation system, unsecure job prospects, and lack of motivation
Family Background
My father was teacher of English at Moran College, My mother never gone to School, but always have a spirit to learning. In fact she helped us learn alphabet in early childhood. My Sisters are all better educated than me. My spouse is also a graduate, my two children are school going
Future of Indian Education System
I can see the changes in the field of education as follows:
1. The information base is increasing very fast and even a small child is open to confront the information wave. The educators will have to take utmost care to let the pupil keep valuable infomation and transform them to Knowledge base. for this more trained teachers will be required and existing teachers have to be motivated to have latest tools of education.
2. Teachers will have to attain basic knowledge of all fields not primarily related to him like history, accounting, scientific developments, political scenarios, etc.
3. Media is playing a vast role in education. Now there is a need to account for the contribution of media and to make the media more accountable to our coming generation
