Handling Grievances
It is very important to understand what the grievance of an employee is. Once understood, it is important to make a plan to bridge the gaps and accordingly set the expectation. After doing bi-weekly one on one, it becomes easier to track and close the grievance.
Tech Management matters more on
hands on technology so that they can predict the outcome before the developer.
Influenced by
Mr Srinivasan Thothathri Vice President at HCL Technologies has greatly influenced me. He not only has the vision of how IT industry is shaping, but also has the appetite to absorb any technical challenge. Hats off to him.
Ensuring Growth
It's quite important to understand where IT industry is heading towards. How did waterfall model die in front of agile methodoloy? Is KPI of any significance? Will services model survive down the line or product model will flourish? What is the significance of consulting model? These all questions prompt me to look forward for different forums, attend seminars, read blogs and follow magazines like silicon india.
Team Management
one should always take opnion from team members for all the matters. Before taking a decision it is important to convince the team why the decision is taken and why other prospects were dropped. It should never be a monologue. No office politics and no bitching. To build a constructive environment it is essential to keep everybody on same page.
