Family Background
I am the eldest son (we are two) of an insurance profesional and married for the last 17 years. My wife is an Internet WD and working for a design company here in Dubai. I have one son who is pursuing his O level studies in Grade 12.

I am working for JUMBO ELECTRONICS in Dubai. Jumbo is a market leader in Retail Electronics though their Corporate presence is no less. We are a 2 Billion USD company with presend felt in the ME across most spectrums of business.
Achieving Targets
My Primary Responsiblty is to guide the Sales team in a highly competitive space of Managed Services and sustain the motivation levels due to typically long gestation cycles. We have a competeent team of BA,s and Solution Architects in the team who play a vital part in supporting the sales force.
Positioning the product
We have market leaders like HP ,Ricoh,IBM,Lenovo which forms our portfolio. The teams challenge is to position these brands/products as per Customer wants and needs.There are several models folllowed to achieve this purpose.The prime focus which is Managed services follows a multilayered approach.

THINKING OUT OF THE BOX WHICH IS FAST BECOMING A CLICHE - neverthless a required trait. Vendor management and people relations will help achieve objectives.

MArketing is evolving all the time and trends are actually corrections madedueto the market changes.These days we find drastic deviations in market reactions with the global economic and political situation in a state of flux.However the basic marketing principles ie wants,needs,4Ps remains relevant
Future prospect
Plans are varied,but I see myself doing marketing consultancy and also setting up a company which would also be into market study and research primarily for service rendering.
What suggestions would you like to give to the aspirants who want to make their career in Marketing only?
Be open and receptive to ideas,have multiple roads charted for each objectives so that if one is blocked you continue the journey allbeit by another way.
Also understand that being human you can make mistakes,but the clincher is to correct and try not to repeat it.

though it is my personal opinion that the market segments have a lot of overlaps. Product positioning is very important .
Importance of Marketing
Marketing professionals are the drivers and the Sales force are the means to the end in any organisation. They are mutually complementary and deserves equal importance. One does not survive without the other.
