My achievements

On the professional front:
1. I have led the strategy and project execution for programs related to multi-channel commerce, for our client's customized products. During this project I lead a team of 30+ Consultants and 6 different vendors located across the globe.
2. I have led transformational, cross-functional projects within the retail industry directly reporting to Senior Management teams comprising of SVPs and VPs.
On the personal front:
I have been involved in various CSR activities and have worked on projects pertaining to the underprivileged.

Important lesson learned

I would like to share the following learnings:
1. Teamwork is the most important thing when working together.
2. It is always good to have a cheerful environment at the workplace. You should encourage people to smile even during tough situations.
3. Communication - proactively - is also very important especially to your superiors.
4. Hard work, Dedication and Passion towards your work.
5. Appreciation and recognition of team members is very important.
6. Allow your team members to grow and reach their true potential.
7. Honesty and Loyalty is a key when doing business.
8. Relationship building is a key to having success in business.
9. Family life is as important as professional life.

Couple of years from now

I would see myself in a leadership position within the industry or else I would be heading my own business.

Thoughts on Education system of our country

I think that the education system in India is moving towards a non-competitive direction. I would discourage this move. Children should know how to compete with each other. Once, they move into the real world it is all about competition. So, they should be groomed well to face these challenges.

Influenced by

I think my parents have influenced a lot - they have shaped me into the person I am - from providing me the best of education and thought approach towards life.
During my professional career, I have also been influenced by my managers (and I have been lucky to have some great people around me). I have been given challenging opportunities and timely advice and guidance to sail through them.

Brief description about me

I have 8+ years of work experience in the IT services industry. I am a Senior Consultant with Infosys Limited and have business consulting experience. For the past six years was based out of our client location in Germany (at the adidas-Group headquarters).
My core skills included business development, consulting, project management, account management and client relationship management. I have a lot of experience in Retail and Consumer Goods. I also worked at a start-up technology based firm, in Zurich, last year.
I have completed my MBA from INSEAD (France / Singapore) in Dec 2012.

Initiative to develop a country

I would quote Mahatma Gandhi - "Be the change you wish to see in the world". So, my humble request to all fellow citizens is that do your bit for the country. Let's fight against corruption. Let us stop the "Chalta Hain" attitude in life.

My family background

My father was a doctor in the Indian Armed Forces. He now serves in the private sector. I mother is a PHD from JNU, Delhi and is currently a school teacher.

Important decision

I think the turning points of my life were as follows:
1. Not to do my bachelor's degree in the US and choose to do Engineering from India.
2. Not to do my master's degree in the US and choose to join Infosys in India.
3. Not to pursue my MBA in India but take the opportunity to go abroad and work at the client location.
4. To move into a project management cum consulting role and not pursue the technical role.
5. To do my MBA from INSEAD, a premier MBA school.
6. To select a good life partner as my wife.

Degree that I recommend

I have completed my MBA and as of now I do not plan to get into higher education.

My role model

N. R. Narayana Murthy is my role model. Chairman Emeritus and founder of Infosys Limited. He epitomizes the journey of a small town boy to building one of the biggest empires in India. An engineer who had a dream and the courage to fulfill it.

Ensuring success

I think that life is a continuous learning process. As I grow professionally, I try to learn and acquire more skills from all available sources to transform them into my strengths in my life.
