Brief description about me

I am currently in charge of the technical development of the startup Touristlink.com an innovative social marketplace for travel which connects travelers to locals in the travel industry. Previously, I graduated in Information Technology from Shri Ramdeobaba Kamla Nehru Engineering College Nagpur. Prior to working on Touristlink I spent several years in Pune with the software companies like Cybage. Working as the technical manager with Touristlink I have had the chance to manage the entire framework design, development & deployment of the project. Now with 7 years of experience in web and mobile development I can handle any technology related changes within the domain I am working on quite efficiently while at the same time effectively managing the good size team.

Challenges in job

Working with the startup company is quite challenging; you need to handle each and every aspect of the development and design with the limited resource. As per the project requirements; I need to timely update my knowledge base using the various online and offline resources. Every time a new task comes up we need to figure out the correct course to develop it as efficiently as possible so that the end product is up to the market trend. The new challenges relating to the Touristlink project ensure a continuous learning process which will enable me to handle a wide array of different projects.

Job made easy

The continuous involvement of my senior managers and good understanding from the design team, really help me understand the requirement very well and develop the end product in the best manner. The friendly office environment and working with the same group of developers for an extended period has really brought us together as a team.

Upcoming trends

The upcoming shift in distribution towards mobile devices will be the industry game changer. Today we need to focus on each and every users with the varying devices and platforms so that the end product will be easily accessible across all the available browsing platforms.

The second trend is towards social networking and personalization. One of our goals with Touristlink is to make it both social and at the same time a more personalized experience for the members. A powerful trend across the web is that people are more inclined to share personal information and socialize from long distance so as to maintain relationships and meet new friends.

My point of view

My personal observation is that most of the people after completing the graduation look for the onsite job opportunity. So the talent is moving from India to the outside world and also we are more involved towards outsourcing talent for the USA, UK & other countries. The startup environment is improving in India but it is still a challenging place to find investment from Indian investors. The government could probably take some simple steps to stimulate the startup industry in India and to help change the mindset about working for startups.

My goals

My goal is to see myself in the position where Touristlink will be well appreciated across the world and millions of the people actually using it.

family background

I belong to the middle class family. I have 2 elder sisters and a younger brother. My father strives hard to give us a very good high class education. We have our own small catering business on which we need to engage partially during our studies too.

Advice to professionals

In the field of the Internet Technology there is lot of the scope relating to software usage and deployment. So my best suggestion to any one you is starting his first job is to select the right stream in which he is quite interested and always try to be the Good Learner.

Advice to students

I want to advise them to give the 100% dedication to the college curriculum since the basics need to be very clear for the tasks required in the future employment. The right time to shape the bright future is the college time where you can bring your ideas into reality and show your talent in the project you developed during that time. Once you start working with a company you will find that if you have not acquired the strong skill set it is much harder to catch up with the team and project requirement. So use the time properly and try to learn as much as you can
