My brief description
I am Vishnu Mehra. I started as a entrepreneur right from my student days. i did my engg from Shri Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain College Of Engg. i founded a cell called ENTREPRENEURSHIP CELL in our college, and got exposure for starting up my own venture from there. i started Mummy's tiffin in y 5th sem which did quite well with some help from Open Coffee Club Bangalore. later on on 2nd feb 2011 i started my first restaurant named ZAIKA PUNJAB DA( ZPD )... today we have two branches of ZPD's and soon in first week of december i am starting up a new series of restaurants under the name DAAWAT-E-PUNJAB in jayanagr 4th block, which promises to be one of its kind restaurant. Its a huge risk and people as always will clearly be able to see our hard efforts in building strong relationship with our customers and giving them something different and satisfying. i graduated 7 months back and i am into my business completely.
Challenge in job
well the most challenging part is to satisfy the customer, as there
is huge competition in restaurant industry today, we need to re-invent ourselves every single day, handling our team is also a big challenge... its really BIG challenge. Today the consumer is
intelligent, we cannot expect him to come out and spend money for bad quality and average service... everything needs to be above average at least to please customer.
Job made easy
well i followed my heart, i chose to do what i love to do the most.
i am in this industry with passion & that's what makes all the
challenges seem easy. For me every customer is important and the approach towards satisfying customer is different from person to person.
Upcoming Trends
Well we have already seen the trend of concept restaurants clicking off well. now the trend i feel is that people like to go to malls for shopping. Hence stand alone restaurants will have to take a next step and enter into malls. There's lot of technology that has entered into restaurant industry today but with all the changing trends, i strongly believe that basic ground work or hard work remains still the same.
My point of view
There are two reasons for this. One is the education system of our country, instead of creating professionals i guess it brings the moral down of a student. People here are judged on the basis of marks they score and the talent is completely ignored. the second reason being THE BRAIN DRAIN. Indians for some reason that i don't understand are travelling to other parts of the world and doing favors for them. In India i feel people are not taking risks, we do desperately need Entrepreneurs to change the scenario.
My goal
Next five years we plan to build 12 restaurants under
DAAWAT-E-PUNJAB and try to create as much employment as possible.
My advice to professionals
Have lots of patience. Time will put you down but you need to bounce back. Challenges are plenty and you need to face them all alone.. success will surely come if you work in this industry with honesty.

Advice to students
I have always told it to students from my college and other college where i have been as guest. God is great, he has his own plans for you, you just need to believe in him rest will automatically be taken care off.. you are alone on earth so do not expect that somebody else will come and face the set of challenges that you are destined to face. need to take the fear of failure off from mind, seek blessings of parents and god. success will have to come. Entrepreneurship is a difficult journey but the satisfaction that you get at the end of the day matters the most. Walk as if you are the king or you don't care who the king is..
